Inventory Control Specialist (Baltimore)


Tate is a solutions based provider of mechanical equipment and service in the mid-Atlantic region. The Sr. Manager of Inventory Control and Supply Chain Management is responsible for all aspects of inventory control and supply chain management with all vendors and suppliers.


Manage Company-wide areas for: Inventory, Equipment, Tools, Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehouses, In/Out Bound Freight, Fleet Vehicle Program, Gas Card Program and Uniform Contract

Implement and execute an inventory replenishment system ensuring proper levels of stock; identify process improvement opportunities to management and work within the team to drive inventory improvement initiatives

Review and approve warehouse invoices for accuracy

Report and Measure operational KPI’s for warehousing and inventory management; measure inventory and vendor/supplier performance metrics and report performance to management while maintaining inventory levels throughout the supply chain to identify required actions to prevent shortages, reduce inventory excess and obsolescence and minimize inventory investment

Monitor inventory flow throughout the supply chain and provide effective decision-making information to management

Analyze and report through reports, systems and interaction with other departments the future requirements for all parts and service job parts; analyze stock out situations and assist in root cause analysis and remediation plans Track and Trace critical inbound and drop ship inventory shipments from all suppliers including proactive communication on the timing and content of inbound freight while resolving problems to ensure continuous delivery of product and accuracy of computer records

A four year degree in Business or Supply Chain Management from an accredited university is desirable with 5-7 years related experience in inventory, logistics or supply chain management. Willing to travel to branches to train, audit and organize. Demonstrated experience in an integrated distribution system environment (SAGE 300 a plus). Must have strong analytical, problem solving, inventory management skills and have strong knowledge and understanding of supply chain processes. Experience working with inventory software systems and be familiar with price listing. Understand and have experience maintaining ongoing inventory cycle counts and year-end inventory. Advanced PC skills including MS Excel, Word, and Outlook. Successful completion of seminars, workshops and courses that demonstrate a commitment to learn and grow consistently over the course of a career is important. Knowledge of fundamental good business practices necessary. Expert communication skills required. Ability to teach and lead others is necessary. Technical knowledge of mechanical products is desirable.
