Boiler Preventative Maintenance: An Ounce of Prevention Now

Not only are boilers expensive to replace, but failures can be catastrophic. You know the saying, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” With boilers, consistent preventative maintenance keeps the disease away.

The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors found that poor maintenance practices or a defective low water cutoff cause most boiler incidents, including those that result in injuries and building damage. The best way to counter this? Routine preventative maintenance.

For industrial or commercial boilers and auxiliary boiler equipment that consistently achieves peak performance, we recommend weekly, monthly and annual maintenance checks. Note that annual monitoring is nonnegotiable, as you’ll need to secure a certificate of inspection to keep operating each year.
